Job Description
Reporting to the Coordinator of Carpentry and Millwork Division, the Carpenter is accountable for the structural, architectura/interior finishes, including millwork, hardware, glazing, floor surfaces, steel and wood framing, interior and exterior finishes, installs doors, windows, builds stairs, lay flooring, erects scaffolding, installs suspended ceilings, constructs concrete, and builds framework. Duties will include providing estimates of labour and materials content for minor projects and renovation. The incumbent will work collaboratively with other trade groups and disciplines in completing work requests.

• Related experience as a Carpenter, preferably within an institutional environment

    2) Set the forms that hold concrete to the desired pitch and depth, and align them.

    3) Spread, level, and smooth concrete, using rake, shovel, hand or power trowel, hand or power screed, and float.

    4) Mold expansion joints and edges, using edging tools, jointers, and straightedge.

    5) Monitor how the wind, heat, or cold affect the curing of the concrete throughout the entire process.

    6) Signal truck driver to position truck to facilitate pouring concrete, and move chute to direct concrete on forms.
